James D. Gilbert, CPA, ABV

James D. Gilbert, CPA, founded J.D. Gilbert & Company in 1979 after working with two "big five" accounting firms and in the retail, investment and real estate industries. Mr. Gilbert is a leader in the accounting industry who regularly conducts peer reviews of other Florida CPA firms, has extensive dealings with the IRS, and also has considerable expertise in litigation support including eminent domain and business valuation, forensic accounting and business damages. Mr. Gilbert is a certified mediator before the Supreme Court of Florida, and ABV rated by the AICPA as accredited in business valuation. Recently, Mr. Gilbert was profiled in The Business Journal, "Corporate Elite: Accounting".

Douglas T. Walker, CPA, PFS

Douglas T. Walker, CPA, joined J.D. Gilbert & Company in 1984 and has more than 15 years of accounting experience in the restaurant industry. Mr. Walker represents a number of the area's top restaurants providing services such as accounting and consulting, sales tax and IRS audit representation, restaurant start-up and expansion consulting, tip audit representation, and tax planning. As a member of the National Restaurant Association and Florida Restaurant Association, Mr. Walker is an active member of the restaurant industry. He also holds a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the AICPA.

Scott A. Williams, CPA, PFS

Scott A. Williams, CPA, joined J.D. Gilbert & Company in 1987 with several years of large accounting firm experience. In addition to managing the audit, accounting and peer review for the firm, Mr. Williams holds a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the AICPA and is licensed as a Uniform Investment Advisor to provide additional financial products and services to the firm's clients. Mr. Williams also currently serves on the Board of the Florida Legislative Alliance and The Broward Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.
